RECYCLING PROCESS

Within the activities for environmental care, Pueblo Bonito Group, through the Letty Coppel Foundation, has an created a solid waste program in each of the hotels of the group, with the objective of minimizing the impact of our touristic activity in the environment, where our hotels are located.
Our integrated solid waste program is divided into two areas: Hazardous Solid Waste (HSW) and Non-Hazardous Solid Waste (NHSW).

Hazardous Solid Waste: Are the results of maintenance and clean-up work mainly in the hotel and that by their physical and chemical characteristics are categorized as hazardous, because they damage the environment, such as water, soil and subsoil.
Among the most common HSW are solvents, used oils, batteries, tow, lamps and contaminates containers. Each one of the hotels has a temporary warehouse for hazardous waste, according to the current legislation. The waste is stored in these warehouses until the authorized companies come to collect such waste and send them for recycling.

Non-Hazardous Solid Waste: This type of waste is divided into Organic and Inorganic Waste. Among organic waste we may find food waste and pruning waste from the green areas. On the other hand, inorganic waste is conformed by paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and metals.
Organic waste is used to make compost and then be used as fertilizer for our gardens. In the case of inorganic waste, these are recycled to the greatest extent possible.
With these actions, Pueblo Bonito Group helps with the care of the environment sending the least amount of trash to local dumps. The staff is also trained on waste sorting with courses on material recycling.
