Letty Coppel Foundation assists the EXPO 2011 PROJECT

On April 9, Letty Coppel Foundation was invited to participate as a judge in the PROJECT EXPO 2011 event organized by the North American University.

The students of this university in the last semesters of different races had different productive projects, which were developed by students. Among the projects there were agencies, shrimp packing, refrigeration, community centers, sports fields and green space.

After the presentation of their projects, the judges deliberated and selected the top three, who were organic, First Plaza, Community Center as the second and third-party Xocolat.

With this type of action Letty Coppel Foundation supports social projects that can help improve the quality of life for residents.

7th Pueblo Bonito Race

On November 26th, 2010, the 7th Pueblo Bonito Race took place, with about a hundred workers from the Pueblo Bonito Hotels at Mazatlan participating.  The race was held in a circuit that included the Habal-Cerritos and Ernesto Coppel Campaña Ave.

One of the objectives of the Letty Coppel Foundation is promoting the practice of sports as a way to maintain physical health of the population, in this case employees of the Pueblo Bonito Hotels.

About 100 employees participated with enthusiasm in order to finish the race; there were 4 categories; at the end of the race the employees enjoyed a Kermes party where they were able to enjoy games and food, as well as a music band that entertained the event.

Letty Coppel Foundation supports children of employees with school kits

 

 


Letty Coppel Foundation delivers 250 backpacks and 200 pesos in electronic card for school supplies stocked by the same number of children of employees who got better grades.

The Foundation president Letty Coppel, who traveled to Los Cabos only to appear in package delivery is first school, said in his message “You have to educate our children with values more with the climate of violence and insecurity, we must construct the civilization of love, which can not have better foundations within the family structure that corresponds to build a culture of values that allow people to develop fully, leading to firmly allowing children to bear the consequences of their actions to make never allow responsible within the family is broken communication, build trust, open channels so that each child can say what you feel or what they think without fear of being suppressed facts that separate rather than unite. “



Cycle of conferences for employees of Pueblo Bonito Hotels

conferencias2Letty Coppel Foundation in coordination with the DIF Mazatlan, offered to employees of the hotels Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán and Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay a series of lectures were given by staff of the municipal DIF.
The courses were held from 9 to 16 March in facilities of both hotels. Among the courses offered are: Breast cancer, cervical cancer (colposcopy), Values and Services of the DIF. The lectures were given by medical doctors serving in the health trailer, donated by the Foundation Letty Coppel and remaining courses for coordinators of these areas. The total attendance at this conference cycle was more than 400 employees.

Letty Coppel Foundation present at World Junior Surfing Championship 2010

surfLetty Coppel Foundation in their goals with the support of sport, so this year is supporting the young Daniel Kelly Item so you can attend the World Junior Surfing Championship 2010 in Piha, Auckland, New Zealand.
Locally Daniel has participated in all annual tournaments, which are the winter classic, classic, classic summer the Patole, in which he has occupied first place in the youth category (sub 18). Has competed in national tournaments in Rosarito, Baja California, Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Rio Nexpa, Michoacan and Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca ls face best surfers in the country.
International participated in the World Junior Surfing Games 2009 at U-18, held in Salinas, Ecuador, which involved more than 180 competitors from around the world, occupying the place 81 in the world ranking.

 
From 20 to 28 January 2010; will be taking the World Junior Surfing Games 2010 where Daniel will be competing with surfers from over 28 countries. The Mexican team will consist of surfers from Oaxaca, Guerrero, Nayarit and Sinaloa.
The World Surfing Games are presented by the International Surfing Assosiation (ISA), which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (COI) as the World Surfing Authoritarian Government.

Conservation Medicine & Collection of Sea Turtle Samples Workshop

Imagen 068On Saturday October 17th, in the Hotel Pueblo Bonito Rose Ballroom, La Costa, a workshop on conservation medicine and samples of sea turtles was held, sponsored by the city of Los Cabos, through the Program for the Protection of Sea Turtles, the Grupo Tortuguero Las Californias, Pueblo Bonito Group and the Letty Coppel Foundation.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Alan Alonso Aguirre of Wildlife Trust and Alan Zavala MC Norzagaray IDRC-IPN, who shared their knowledge and experiences regarding conservation medicine, biosecurity measures in the collection of samples and legal issues. The workshop was followed by an interesting question and answer session. 

Upon completion of the event, a sea turtle with a transmitter was released. This is to help conduct further research on the route of the Olive Ridley migration.

Domestic violence lecture is given to employees of the Pueblo Bonito Group

 

Colaboradores asistentes a la platicaIn order to understand the origins, development and consequences of domestic violence, the Pueblo Bonito employees participated in a “Domestic Violence” lecture on October 1st and 2nd. The lecture was given by the staff of the Department of Defense for Children, Women and Family.

This effort is one of the many that the Letty Coppel Foundation and the Municipal DIF System of Mazatlan carry out together to keep their staff informed.

During the discussion, attendees learned about the different ways in which family violence occurs and how to prevent it. They were given information guiding those who find themselves in difficult situations and on how to get help.

Twelfth Week for Safety and Health and Environmental System

In order to prevent risks and improve the working conditions of hundreds of workers in coordination with Pueblo Bonito Group and Letty Coppel Foundation organized the twelfth week of Safety, Health and Environmental System.

During the week various events took place, from evacuation drills, exhibition of personal protective equipment, keynote, closing the contest activities with internal emergency brigades of Civil Protection, which faced situations where they had to apply their knowledge and skills in fire, first aid, search and rescue and evacuation.

The event was attended by Alejandro Sánchez Acosta responsible for the emergency center 066, Raul Rodriguez Director of Ecology, Adolfo Roman de la CROC Executive Committee and representatives of different hotels from  Pueblo Bonito Group

Conference “Climate Change and its tourist approach”

On 08 May 2008 took place at the campus of Pueblo Bonito Rose Hotel conference entitled “Climate Change and its tourist approach” given by Dr. Antonina Ivanova / Member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was awarded the prize Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 jointly with Al Gore. Such a conference had the participation of private initiative and the Pueblo Bonito Group through the Letty Coppel Foundation.

 

The conference developed very important issues regarding climate change and its consequences such as global warming, the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere which has been causing it called natural disasters or manmade, and what we can do to reduce our emissions so we can help a little on this planet that has given us so much.

Letty Coppel Foundation invites us to collaborate with this problem all of us must take all.
